How to reduce Electricity Bill
Switch
from Lightbulbs to LED:
Fluorescent bulbs may
be more expensive initially, but they are definitely worth the investment. A
single standard incandescent lightbulb can cost the same to operate as six to
10 fluorescent bulbs and the fluorescents last about 10 times longer.
It is more better to
replace all lightbulbs with LED lights. LED is more efficient and consume less
energy. Another positive of LEDs is that they don’t
contain any mercury.
Benefit from Solar Technology:
The most effective
way to lower your electric bill is very likely by going solar. Sure, you have
to pay for those solar panels, but they are cheaper (in the long run) than
electricity. The average middle-class family that goes solar
using a solar leasing model is projected to save $700 a year,
according to one recent study.
Switch off supply when not in use:
Unfortunately, most
of us keep things plugged in for hours or even days between the times we
actually use them. This includes TVs, computers, DVD players, DVRs, Xbox and
Playstation consoles, our air conditioning or heating (when we are out),
toaster ovens, and much more. These things are then using electricity even when
you are not using them. Simply unplug these things when you aren’t
going to use them for several hours or perhaps even days.
Replace old Fridge with new:
If your fridge is get
old it is consuming more energy with passage of time. Try to replace with new
and save energy.
Air Conditioner Use:
Use air conditioner
when too hot and raise higher set point on thermostate when all room is cooled. Change the filters of your air conditioner and furnace
monthly. Keeping the air flowing and clean is good for your lungs and will help
maintain peak efficiency.
